Overview

Tensar TriAx® geogrid products have helped contractors and pavement engineers around the world stabilize soft soils and optimize pavement designs to get longer service life for their budget. Its multi-directional properties leverage triangular geometry, one of construction's most stable shapes, to provide greater stability and stiffness. Its ability to efficiently confine aggregate reduces installation costs while improving the overall performance of the structure.

Advantages of TriAx Geogrid

This innovative technology has allowed owners, engineers, and contractors to realize the primary benefits associated with triaxial geogrid in both paved and unpaved applications. These geogrid applications include optimizing the thickness of pavement components, extension of pavement service life, and the efficient stabilization of soft ground conditions.

Superior Performance for Paved and Unpaved Surfaces

TriAx geogrid's near-isotropic stiffness characteristics contribute to its improved performance in comparison to Tensar's biaxial (BX) geogrids and geotextiles in trafficked applications. Such characteristics are ideal for improving the service life of paved and unpaved surfaces while further reducing excavation and pavement component thickness requirements.

Cost-Effective Soil Stabilization

Conventional approaches to stabilizing soft soils include removing and replacing (over-excavating) the bad material, placing a thick layer of granular material as a bridge layer, or chemically treating the soil to improve its strength. TriAx geogrids provide a simpler, more cost-effective solution using the functions of filtration and stabilization.
