Game Play Review:

Entry 1:

I recently accepted a new position with Gray investigations as a private investigator. Prior to receiving my first case, I had a quick briefing on how to decipher codes. I must say that this training was extremely helpful in the case that I landed. I cannot go into too much detail of the case, as I don’t want to accidentally tip anyone off- but I can say that my client (the victim’s friend) is not wrong in suspecting foul play, the evidence given to me is much too suspicious. I have plenty of information to look through, some of this evidence includes: notes that were written by the victim himself (prior to his untimely demise), evidence photos, suspect profiles and alibi’s, a security camera snapshot and a threatening note. It’s quite the mystery! I am carefully examining and cross examining each item so I can piece together what really happened that tragic night.

Entry 2:

There is a lot of information to pore over, including a locked bag that I have been unsuccessful in my attempts to open. Therefore, i’ve decided to collaborate with 3 other colleagues of mine regarding this case. The details we’ve uncovered have led us to all agree that Nick’sdeathat Devil’s Well is far too suspicious! It was no accident! The condemning proof we need is hidden within all this evidence, we just need to unravel the clues and piece it together, we will work together in scrutinizing every last item and won’t give up until we’ve solved this case! We will figure out who murdered Nick Webster!

Entry 3:

We’ve cracked the code and unlocked the bag! In doing so some startling new information has come to light. We’ve also been able to narrow down the suspect list by confirming their alibi’s. We are getting closer to solving this mystery. There is still a cipher we are trying to decode, but I am confident that we’ll figure it out.

Entry 4:

We’ve cracked the case! It took us about 2 hours, but Nick’s murderer is finally behindbars! I’m proud of my team for working together so well; we discovered the murderers’ motive for killing Nick, and their alibi unraveled quickly. As amateur sleuths I’d say it’s a job well done!

Hunt A Killer Mystery:DeathAt TheDiveBar

It’s an engaging experience, whether you solve this mystery solo or with a group of friends/family. Working through this case with my husband and two other friends of ours I felt was a nice sized group for this game. With all the materials laid out we were able to each choose a couple of items to read through, see all the photos laid out in front of us and then collaborate with one another, revealing the information we had just gathered. It was a very interesting theme, with very detailed evidence and realistic photos. I was extremely impressed with the attention to detail in this game, one of the features, is a phone number that goes to an actual voicemail pertaining to one of the suspects! I love suspense and mystery entertainment, but I don’t care for gory images, I was thankful that this game had no graphic images, or details to that extent. There are no turns, time limits or penalties, (besides solving who the murderer is incorrectly as there is absolutely no replay value to this game). There is quite a lot of material to read and retain so I recommend starting this game earlier in the evening in order to be alert…. and maybe no drinking on the job! Game play states 45-60 minutes, I think that all depends on your group, your experience as sleuths, and of course your sobriety levels prior to starting the game. Overall, I thought it was very well put together and quite an enjoyable experience.
